Picked this up at a swap meet today very well made but I would assume I was a railway convert. Any idea of a date as it seems to be an FL4 reflector.

I thought I had got some good finds but you are getting all the luck.
My guess is a 1935 FL5 modified to run with what looks like a Primus gas cylinder.
There are good photos of Pete Sav`s FL5 In the gallery.

Astro, whats the piece in the middle of the yoke (circled red)? Is it bolted to the casting or part of it? This isn't normally present on standard flood lamps, or at least not on ones i've seen. :-k

Hello Matt, I reckon that it's a guide ring for the gas feed, Jeff.

A R1 Burner with a 246 tank (or a suitable blowlamp modified) might be adapted to get a working FL5 until (or if) original parts are forthcoming. Great find and good luck with fettling it.
