In two of my lamps, a Petromax 828 Rapid 300 CP (1.938) and Anchor 500 CP (current) oscillation occurs at the intensity in his light. Can you help me solve the problem? Or, if you already tried this theme, tell me where is developped. Thank you very much!
All pressure lamps flicker to a greater or lesser extent. The frequency of the flickering is directly proportional to the tank pressure. Generally speaking, increasing the pressure to whatever the manufacturer suggests (2 Bar = ~30psi) increases the flickering frequency beyond what the human eye can detect. So the quick answer; keep your lantern pumped up to correct working pressure...
Well it can be Arturo, but sometimes it's due to insufficient pressure - either not pumped up sufficiently or worn/hard seals losing pressure. They're the first and easiest things to check out and eliminate...
Another cause can be the vapourisers filling up with carbon. Sometimes it can be caused by muck building up on the pricker rods, anything which affects the flow of the fuel and air mix can cause pulsing, Jeff.
