This trademark is cast into the glass on a tin-plate wickie hurricane lantern which has only the marking "Made in England" stamped in the top. The trade-mark is an Elephant with saddle, and "V" in a shamrock shape beneath. Just interested to put a name to it as I am restoring it for a friend. Thanks if anyone can help. Steve.
I'd think it should be "Veritas", shouldn't it? When I look at the Veritas items at the lamp reference gallery the logo appears identical, or at least very similar. BR, Martin
Hi Steve, It looks like the brand mark of Falk & Stadelmann Veritas. This was used on kerosene wick lamps and kersone mantle lamps, don´t know if it was used for the pressure items. /Conny
