Out & about today at a carboot and a few tat shops, picked up this pair. I'll never normally take a lamp sans globe, but it was so cheap it would have been rude not to.
Yeah the car boot season seems to be kicking off. Found one X246B for a few quid but that's all this year.
I haven't done badly lately, more lamps, less stoves though. If anyone's really interested I left another Guardsman in the shop. It looked complete and solid but had a £22 price tag the one I bought (the one with a globe) was £17. The globeless one came along with a couple of badges and a tub of copper grease for a tenner.
My local hardware shop, literally two minutes walk from the front door, has all sorts of goodies. Including what I assume is a third party Tilley globe. No markings on it whatsoever.
It's OK as long as it's double-boxed and using plenty of packing. I've had stuff from Moncrieffs (if that's who it is) arrive undamaged - they pack well. Unfortunately, some eBay sellers seem to think it's OK to jam the glass into the globe cage with slivers of cardboard or folded paper - or no packing at all...
