Hi all, Here is my example of Primus first model 1001 lantern, marked “T” therefore from 1929. This one has a two-piece plated vent, similar to some of the early American lanterns. As Christer says in another thread; a very serviceable and easy to handle burner system lantern and it also looks nice. The original mica was broken, so this lantern has a mica reproduction from Fred Kuntz. /Conny
Very nice lamp Conny and nice Photos - thanks for sharing. It has been on my wishlist for long time. The preheating is just the way I like it. It must have felt a Little strange to screw those j-shaped vaporizerparts back in that coil in that angle being sure the coil grabed the right way. Claus C
Very nice Conny and as has been said a couple of times already, nice detailed photos. Actually because they are so detailed, I can see that the mixing dome and flame spreader are from the later burner. Is this how you got the lantern? The older style mixing dome and flame spreader can sort of be seen in [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/450 post of a 1015 lamp.

Very nice lanterns these. Did you buy two-ties from Hytta, or did you find another place? I prefer the older model you show here, but the other is still a good one. These are really good burners. I like the central tube and two-tie mantles, but Primus still uses a real jet and all parts are easily serviceable. That vaporiser is just as easy to clean as the 1020/991-system. I concur regarding the photos. Well done. This is a reference gallery, and we want pictures of details so people can go in and see what different parts look like when they wonder about something on their own lamps.
Christer – I found among all my things an old unused package of two-tie mantles from the Swedish 1970-2000 hardware store chain Järnia (may still exist). The store that sold this package is the Fotogen & Gasolservice (may be the predecessor of Fogas). /Conny
If it is a lantern to use then this is a good thing. There was a reason Primus changed the design after only three years. The original flame spreader is not as robust and a larger mixing dome must have been a good idea too.
