It's my summerstay, i live there on my vacation and on many Weekends, but not much during the winter, it depends on the quality of the ice. Frederik
Looks like a place in my taste . We use to spend our freetime in a similar place (my wifeo own it together with her sisters who never are there), but it is on the mainland so we don't have to go by boat there. Unfortunately my father inlaw, have electrified the place so now there are tv for instance. The only good thing with the electricity is that the refrigerator keeps my beer cold . I also use my lamps at the summerplace, and sometimes my stoves too...
No electricity ,no phone, just the hiss of a lantern. What's not to like. How's the fishing ?...If it's good, can I come to vist? I'll bring my own lanterns Ernie
I know i'm lucky ! Wonderful place ! and the sole reason tha t i started collecting lanterns, me an my grandfather used to run two lanterns on this little island, one optimus 300 and one Radius 119. This was in the 1970's then time passed by , my grandfather passed away, and the lanterns needed service this being in the late 1990's , I took the lanterns home with me and they were stored at the attic for some years, then in the early 2000's i finaly started searchin for parts on the internet, and here we are about ten yeras later and about 100 lanterns later... . And yes the fishing is good ! Frederik
See the other post, the one with the children: the young girl on the sofa has a phone. Frederik: how far?
yes, it's sad in a way.. when i was a kid and we were going to the cabin, we told a few people we were going there and that we would call from the local grocery store every seccond day, and that if they wanted to visit us.. they had to tell us what day, and on what time, so we could have a lookout at the shore at the specific time, and then we would go and get them by the boat. If you ask me... when it comes to cellphones , life for the most part was better with out them, they are great in an emergency but thats all.. Frederik
