I purchased this at an estate auction in the mid 1990's. The only items I have replaced are the globe and the generator. The mantle is incorrect. The globe may not have the correct logo. I recently replaced the packing on the gas control knob assembly. I only gave this a minor cleaning, it is basically in original condition. Date stamp of 7 10 on the bottom.
When I bought it, it came in a 242A box, but came with 242B instructions, a page about Coleman generators, and a list of approved fuels for gas pressure appliances, which is effective until Jan 1, 1938.
I have used this lantern in the past, but have not lit it since I finished my repairs.

I have a painted 242C dated May 1945 and a painted 242B dated November 1941. I'll have to get pics of them...
