l rescued this ol girl....

    Im still havin trouble gettin the photos on.........this is as black as yu will get when i got it .......so will she ever shine again?

    Those lanterns are made from brass, so they will clean up well enough, but they were painted when they left the Tilley factory, check out the link below, Jeff.

    Don't work on it, just get a burner and lit it up !

    In do enjoy a dirty crappy looking lantern sometimes more then a brightly polished one.

    It took some patience and a lil sweat but but its looking almost as it came out of the factory [if i say so myself ,not quite but close lol]......but its got a new leash of life should last another 60yrs??Problem i have now is showing it to yus all cos im still pretty thick as far as getting pics up is concerned...maybe i could email the pics to some1 who knows better?? all help appreciated.

    Oh Wimvie...........there was a burner with it i just hadnt photographed it ....it was pretty complete cap hood and all.this one is the long handle ,i realy cant see any difference with my other short handles 246 .Are the the same but for the handle??/

    It should be the same except for length of handle.

    My guess (and from personal experience as well): short handle = hot hand when carrying....

    And I should have been a bit clearer in my "the same" response above: the hoods are the same, but there are two kinds of cages.

    Here is my full set just finished .
    There was only 4 changes .
    Let me know if there is more .
    Short handle through to cage and vent differences.
    Took me ages to get good tops brown one still looking for a good one .
