I don't know whether we have many Scottish members but in England (and Wales, presumably) we weren't given a vote so obviously our opinion doesn't count...
IF Scotland secedes from the UK, I'm sure that they will keep many services under treaty (Royal Mail, MoD, etc) A full secession would be a disaster, and I doubt if that's what they have in mind. Going to be interesting to watch from the States. I hope that they learn from our mistakes. (Proud of what we've become, but we have our foibles...)
As I said on facebook the other day... I can't decide whether Cameron and all the other Muppets who suddenly discovered this place called Scotland a month ago actually helped or hindered the "better together" campaign.
I just got home and saw the telli. No matter the result I will keep bying scotch and Irish whisk(e)y. I wish you Guys the best and I hope the result wont divide your good coorporation no matter who sits behind the rudder after this exiting voting and respect each other for what you are. Best wishes from Danmark, we have been there and done that Claus C
Still 45% unhappy with remaining in the UK. How now is the current establishment going to satisfy them.
I am just glad I didn't have to vote because I am still not sure what might have been best for both Scotland and the Union and therefore how I would have voted. My folks are from Glasgow and Bute but I am English born in Cheshire. I feel union or federation is better than seperation but the devil is in the detail and that will no doubt occupy the minds of those politicians who actually have one for years to come. ::Neil::
Very few folk north of the border vote Tory, but because we are part of the UK., we keep ending up with Tory Governments and that is one issue which gaining independence would solve and Scotland was an independent country until 1707, check out the link below, Jeff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acts_of_Union_1707
And we should of course remember that Scotland's Independence was, in large part, sold out by the Scottish nobility who saw gain for themselves in the union.
