Hi All, I come before you as a fugitive from C.C.F. My offence consisted of posting a link to the comedy series Little Britain, on the message board. In retrospect, I can see where not every member would find this an amusing show. I promise any viewing moderators that my posts will be tempered by some degree of restraint in regards to other members sensibilities. I have been deeply hurt by insinuations that my posts have had the intent to "sow seeds of dischord" and can see why it would be necessary for moderators to read other members private messages... I will therefore request to poll whether this series is offensive?
I'm not a moderator here but I am over at CCS and I've no doubt the two forums are exactly the same when it comes to PTs. I'm not aware of any facility whereby mods can read the PTs of other members - PT stands for Private Topic and that's exactly what they - private. What evidence is there that the situation is any different? Anyway, welcome to the forum, although you could have chosen a less controversial start! News to me that Little Britain is a documentary, Tony. I thought it was intended to be a comedy sketch show...
Ahh, but I didn't say I had any evidence, just that if one were in need of such extreme authority, it could be considered a necessary measure... I had some private correspondence go missing, but perhaps it was a computer glich. Thanks for the welcome, I will hopefully be able to contribute more, than being tolerated. Ian
I think it would probably be best if you drew a line under whatever it was that happened elsewhere and started afresh here. Let's see some pics of your lamp collection, eh - we like those...
Robert (or Ian?), I doubt that the good people over at CCF read or alter private postings. If the correspondence is missing, I find it more likely that some other circumstance is the culprit. Computer glitch, perhaps, or some mistake when administrating your messages? But it doesn't matter here. I suggest you follow Davids advice in the post directly above. Let's see some lamps.
