Hi gents, what does one do when asked to participate in a Christmas event taking place a) to commemorate the refugees at the start of The Great War and b) staged on a brewery's court? Here are a few photos of the event... Photo n°1 shows us setting up the scene, I'm unfolding one of my Swiss folding lanterns. There is also a hand cranked siren, this packed up on sunday! The next one shows our group on saturday evening while photo n°3 shows what it was all about, the children finding refuge in the christmas stable. In photo n°4 I try to warm up next to the Petromax...while my friends have a drink! (we offered our "jenever" to some of the onlookers, their faces were hilarious when they found out it was.....tap water! Or, as we called it, "actor's jenever" ) There's one more photo to follow as I can only post 5. See you in a minute!
Hi Ken, we were lucky as it was mostly the organisers (all volunteers from the neighbourhood) who did the hard work. As seen in the last photo, it was relaxing at times...... (I reckon most photos of me were taken when in this 'mode' ) All the best, Wim
