Helo, Gentlemans. Do you can help me to identify this Petromax model? Any picture and any information about I can't to find. It is very big one, 60cm height without glass, and probably 800CP or more. ? Thank you in advance.
Very good find. I don't remember the model now but it has the feed trhough the chimney to pre heat the heavy oil used to burn on it. It was not for kerosene but for heaviest fuels. Juan
Writing is not important in this case. It is a Lithuanian diller showcard. Writing on the shade white enameled side is "Petromax", one word only.
Very easy to find. I do not remember model, but it has a pre-heated feed trhough the chimney for burning heavy oil on it. This is certainly not the most important of the kerosene, but as fuel
Oh, yes it is! It is always important and never redundant because if you post a picture of the tag and details, other people can know about a different lamp. Juan
Here is a picture of the tag: It's mean: "Stock company "Neris" Vytautas Str. 26B Kaunas" Any word about lamp
Nice! Well, I said everything I knew and I'm almost sure that it is model 837. There are not many of these so wait a little for somebody else.
Juan, thank you for your help. I'm sure, you are right, I am in some confusion only, because I can't find nothing about Petromax 837 model
My first impression was a 836. The fuel feed through the chimney is always mentioned in relation to cold conditions or heavy oil. This makes sense off coarse. Nice lamp. How does the burner look like and the jet / nozzle ?
I suspect this might be model 868 or 869. I know Bart had an 868 with this inside feed tube. All the paper I have shows 83? series lamps as for kero although they do state that they can be supplied for different fuels such as Benzine or Alcohol but I can't find any mention of heavier oils. 868 and 869 are both 800cp 868 with steel tank and 869 copper. However the general shape of this lamp is wrong for any of the models so far mentioned. Most petromax do nut lamps have very little of the chimney visible and all the illustrations show the fuel feed outside the chimney. I have only one catalogue image showing a lamp of this shape with an internal feed. Unfortunately this is a Falk catalogue which does not give the Petromax model numbers. ::Neil::
