My wife has taken a liking to the X246B that has been waiting for a fettle for some time now. It didn't take but hour to put it right and have it running for her. She likes the color of the light, and the gentle hissing sound isn't bad. The temperature is going below 0F tonight, so the warmth was welcome even though the wood stove was fired up.

You must have pretty good ventillation in your house. That being said I do like the way they smell :)

They shouldn't smell if everything is in order.
A smell indicates that something needs to be looked over.
A slight scent, however, can of course be considered as acceptable, and even enjoyable.

NO SMELL! It tuned up nicely, and the odor is gone by the time that it's fully warmed up. My wife smokes :(, so if there's a scent, I can't smell it. (The porch is her smoking lounge)

I should mention that we have a wood-burning stove in the same room, so there is already plenty of ventilation since the stove pulls fresh air up through the slats in the floor boards. The rest of the room is pretty snug.

Very well. I'm quite happy with it considering the bad press they get. I do miss the pressure indicator. Other than that, it's doing quite well. Dottie especially likes the top shade and how it reflects light down onto the table.

One more for good measure. I got a beam clamp to hang it from, and used a plant S-hook to bring it down lower. Now the cats have their bed AND light :)

    Pretty cold, where you're living.
Here it's in winter hardly below 0°C.

But nice scenery with the mantle lamp in the livingroom.

    regards
    willi

She is NOT one to have her photo taken, so I get her beauty to myself :)
