    Hi all,
So I need some help with this one.
Is it A - one bad ass bits-a made at home buy some crafty beggar.
Or B - an actual produced heater.
I have never seen anything like it. It does have a lot of lantern style parts.

That is one beefed up looking bit of kit :)

Is that a home made mantle?

Wicked, that looks just like it. Looks okay not painted. (Would prefer original)... Now question is I wonder if the owner wants to sell... How rare are these

This is a quite correct Model B53 Veritas bowl fire heater. These were made by Samuel Heath & Sons Ltd. (S.H.&S) in Birmingham and sold either as Thermidor or Veritas. It is missing the guard but otherwise looks complete. I have seen a few of them so perhaps uncommon rather than rare. Have a look in the Veritas gallery where there are a couple illustrated. ::Neil::
