Forgive me for posting two lanterns in the same image but they're identical. They're the less usually found cream tank with red one-piece hood variant. The lantern on the left is one of my users and, for some reason, is staggeringly bright - the brightest lantern in my collection by far. I presume it's because the mantle is correctly inflated and, somehow, just 'works well' with the vapouriser - that's my best guess anyway. I get the feeling though, that it's actually putting out somewhere in the region of the claimed 300cp and all my other lanterns with that supposed output are falling short, as they tend to do...
Yes not common at all and to have two is rare. If any lantern is capable of 300 cp the Bialaddin is. I have had 306cp out of a T20 and the burners are the same of course. Nice lamps. ::Neil::
Hi, I'm completely new to pressure lamps but just bought one of these on ebay, sadly it arrived without a pre heater- It's a gorgeous thing and I want to learn. Please would you tell me where I can buy the right model preheater from and direct me to good instructions for fitting a new mantle and servicing the lamp/changing the washers? Is there a digital copy of the manual anywhere online that you know of? I'd be really grateful for any help you can give. Thanks.
Welcome aboard! There are catalogues and instructions etc., in the reference library but that is open only to subscribers.
Hi again, there are no instructiond nor diagrams for this model so I'm none the wiser- please someone on here advise me?
E.g. these should all apply to your lantern (not the bowlfire, of course) in most essential parts, even if not specifically for model 315.
You can find spare parts for Vapalux and Bialaddin at the webshop of the new Vapalux company in Korea: https://vapaluxmall.com/41-spirit-cup I am not sure, but I guess that the preheater cup would fit from a 320? Maybe check the images in the gallery and see if it seems to look correct. If you need only the wick, it can be bought at a low price from various spare part shops (or find it on eBay). Btw., I did earlier find, at the above link, a downloadable manual for at least one of the lamps, but now I cannot see where and how.
Okay, here is the online manual for Vapalux M320 which is not very different from the Bialaddin 315: https://vapaluxmall.com/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=5 I didn't find a link from their website, only this direct link to a pdf.
You're welcome Just to tie up all ends: An older version of that same manual can be found in the Lamp Reference Library here. Both are from Willis & Bates and are thus from the 90'ies or older. If that makes them better or worse than the current version is up to you to decide
The seller has found the original pre burner and is sending to me! hurrah- next step is to learn how to use/service it!
The link below shows paperwork for Bialaddin lanterns including the 315. http://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/1462
The lantern on the right is now listed on the 'Great Auction Site in the Sky' or, since the auction has a BIN component, maybe I can say, much more simply, eBay! Anyway, I'd forgotten it was originally exported to the US and sold there by Anderson Heating Inc. of Miami, Florida - their sticker is attached to the underside of the tank. I'm a bit surprised that they were "Sole National Distributor" of Bialaddin stuff in the US but perhaps that's because most Willis & Bates output there was re-badged 'Imber Research'. I must check one of my IR Bowlfires which came from Florida to see if it bears the same sticker...
