    Hi Karli.

    This was intriguing... What's the story behind it?
    Why did they choose to put the letters backwards on this lantern?

    I think by myself that they had problems with the name HASAG for their exported lamps.

    At that time ,in the 1950s, the brand HASAG was protected by a patent. So they changed their name from HASAG to GASAH, but I don't think for a long time.

    I suspect a kind of special edition for the Arab countries, read it from the right to the left.
    Hasag sold to various countries.
    But I can not give any proof.

    I will have disagree here.
    as a right to left reader/writer Latin alphabet is always read left to right.
