While scrounging around for some other lamps, thanks to a tip-off from Matty, I was shown this Bialaddin Bowlfire, which was in use until recently and now used as an ornament.

I've been offered right of first refusal if the owner decides to get rid of it. If I do get hold of it I'll put some detailed photos in the Gallery:

It looks a beauty Tony. Hopefully the other Tony will sell it to you.

Looks good. Someone's stripped the paint off the font (usually cream), and when running the heat output is impressive.

Is that the first incarnation of this heater? Not seen one with the air tube attachment on the back?

Yes this is the first of the type and not at all common. A very nice find. ::Neil::

Yes, a few differences on this early version. Different style handle support, four clips on the guard instead of two, so the name plate on this doesn't have the integral clip for the guard. The air tube on the burner is also shorter than the later models and of course the unusual preheater. I had one of these quite a few years ago and let someone have it thinking I'd soon find another but I never have, so they are not common. Cheers....soon be Newark!!!!
