Lamps and Beer

Here we have a Bundeswehr Feuerhand along with a lovely German Beer, Franziskaner Hefeweisse. Sláinte!!

 

White light for a white beer - and kind of Yin and Yang with hot and cold together. But both well made in Germany.

 

Any nice Swedish beer I could have with my Primus?

 

There are many, but I wonder what the best match would be - finding one which is not in fact Danish (owned by Carlsberg) can be difficult. But maybe a Danish beer really is the best match to a Swedish lantern - so close and still so different, so much in common and still with both mind and common behaviour in separate corners of the world.

The most appropriate beer for the Primus must then be Pripps Blå (Pripps' Blue), which is a very traditional Swedish beer, just as the Primus lanterns are somehow the most Swedish of them all. And still Pripps Blå is actually a member of the Carlsberg family.

 

On the Irish side we have no domestic pressure lamp manufacturers but umpteen amounts of independent breweries

 

Too busy drinking to ever manage the full manufacturing process?

That sounds like Denmark - but somehow you have more breweries. Maybe due to a less established net of roads?

 

Ah, just as life was intended to be...

 

Here we have a Bundeswehr 829B running with a 250cp jet alongside O'Hara's Leann Folláin (English= Wholesome stout) Sláinte!

It will straighten up after you have a few more of those O'Haras.

 

A nice Geniol 150 alongside a Galway Hooker. And before anyone asks, a Galway Hooker is a beer named after an Irish boat design with the same name or in its native language Irish, Húicéir. Sláinte!

 

There are so many to choose from. The problem here is probably for you to get hold of one over there.

Perhaps I'd go for a Grebbestads Mellis.
Be that if I might be a bit biased since it's from a brewery located not far from here, but it's also a very good lager.
Not too exiting. Like a Primus 1020: reliable and doing exactly what it's meant to do.
A perfect summer beer, and a crate of ice cold "Mellis" is a must when out on the sea a nice summer day.

If you wan't some more flavour, take a Dugges.
E.g. their Idjit.
A very rich stout, and one I relly enjoy.
This brewery is situated just outside Gothenburg, so also a west-coast beer
