Let me first of all apologize for gratuitous showing off and getting over excited, again. But look what I got. I see now why Claus and Conny love theirs. They are a lot smaller than I thought. The mantle must be about the size of my thumb nail. I have not disassembled any thing yet so I do not know if there are things missing apart from the cylindrical glass in side the glass and a mantle. Will wait for a few days first I think.
Nice catch Tony. Is the glass globe original? Should be a Wiktorin logo on the globe as well as three small holes. /Conny
Conny, yes it does have the logo on the glass but it is smaller than the dimensions on your picture in the below post. Wiktorin The widest point of this one is 70mm. total height is 65mm and air holes are 12mm.
Anthony - the measurements I gave in that thread is for the biggest Wiktorin burner. There´s also a middle size Wiktorin burner and the one you and I have, the "Lilliput" (tiny) burner/glass globe. There should also be an inner small cylindrical chimney hanging onto the glass globe. My avatar is all original Wiktorin 5000. /Conny
Progress update; doing a bit of swapping around parts this is what I was able to get. Has a single tie mantle on it tied as high as I could to get close to the flame. Has the faintest of hiss. Have to get right up close to hear it at all. A couple of questions to ask, what number inverted mantle should I be looking for? and is the purpose of the inner glass to direct heat up to the vapouriser?
Anthony. Your lamp is starting to look good now . Hope you work out the inverted mantle size OK . Bob .
These are awesome lamps! Nothing like this in the states so.guess I'm gonna have to start a search and pay some big shipping for one.
Wauw Anthony Great catch. I was away for a while and did first see these niceys now. I have some doubt about the globes and print according to what Conny says and here is why: The former owner of my lamp, took over the house containing my lamp. He didnt touch the lamp at all. He just shipped it of to me. To me my lamp came with very old carbonboxed globes - all with the same look and innerlinings. Some of the globes had Wiktorin printed and some did not. There even was frosted globes with Wiktorin printed. The carbon boxes had no printing/Wiktorin on the outside. As none of the globes were broken and the carbon-boxes appeared the same age, then I cant see why the former owner should buy a stock of globes 2 different Places when there was equal of both types. So I think he got the lot in one batch. As there is Wiktorin marked on some of the globes, I think therefore he bought them by a "Wiktorin"-dealer and Wiktorin (Schott/Jena)made Wiktoringlobes without print too Well that is not a proof just based on logic and asuming, but absolutely possible. The innerglass is made and printed by Eserco FF btw. Claus C
