If I remember rightly Mick told me the vendor wanted 600 Pounds for the tank. Not cheap! The documents that are attached to the tank, any idea what they are Pete? Some history of the tank? Operating instructions?
Hi ! Thanks Peter for posting pics , still can't get pics to lamp site , bloody windows 8 and me ain't compatible ! Believed to have been used on a chicken farm around Hull . UK. Must have been well trained chickens to crap in that thing. Appeared on ebay in July for £130 no takers ! Next seen at Great dorset Steam fair for offers over £600 !! mick
Hi Matt ! So seeing the biggest tank we got in Yorkshire still surviving , ain't enough ! Now you want the lights as well !! Try your search with " papers of the Sykes family of sledmere " or " G. Wallis the Leading Light Syndicate ltd , Jameson chambers , hull . " Try University of Hull as they have important archive material relating to hull social and domestic history in their library. I work for Hull college so no historic library attached to us in hull. Its possible the farming complex this contraption was removed from may still have other parts i.e. lamps. I am not going over there as its 65 miles away. Matt you'll have to do it your self from the land down under !! mick
Good onya Mick. I wasn't sure if the bloke selling the tank had some for sale as well. I'll have to get Kylie to pop over and have a look next July. Are you still up for a visit from her?
