I have had this one for some years but only just found the correct sliding cover for it. It came without this part and for some time I had a Coleman cover fitted but I knew there was an unmarked one lurking in the pile which I found whilst hunting for something else, as you do. This is a 300cp gasoline lamp sold by Gloria as their model 1 and also by Knight as their model 306 but the Knight models are always marked and as this one is not it has to be a Gloria. I cleaned the generator and replaced the asbestos cigar to make it run which it does well. The tank seems to be a Coleman turban. It is correct as I have several catalogue images of it but it does seem to be idential to the Coleman and I have to conclude these were bought in from Coleman. I don't have a shade carrier for the lamp so it has to remain naked for now.
The plate over the tank has some scratched markings which are probably by the original owner who seems to be A.O. Wagner.

    Neil,

It is amazing how many companies used the Coleman turban fount.

I know it's not possible to know exactly how these companies came by their turban founts.

I think it's possible that companies produced their own turban founts under license from Coleman as it may have been difficult for Coleman to produce the quantity needed for their own (Coleman) and others use.
