From searching and previous correspondence I think this is a 1250? Just as I found it. I run this regularly, so as clean as it gets.
Close but not 1250. That model is a lantern and you clearly have a table lamp which was originally an AGM 1200. The original pricker mechanism seems to be missing but I can't see if the top of the generator is part of that pricker set up or a bush inserted into the burner casting. If it is bushed then you have model 1250 if it is not and you have the disc part of the pricker set up in place then it is model 1200. An unmodified 1200 is a very rare beast even if part of the pricker detail is missing. With the bush and later gen then it is just rare not very rare. To be certain I could do with a better shot of the top of the generator and the generator locating hole in the casting if possible please. ::Neil::
This one is a bit different than yours Neil. You can see in the pic that there are steel pins to kind of rivet the plug into the burner thru the front. This is a Q77 style generator. I think I have another lamp like this here if I can find it. I will post pics then.
That plug in your lamp looks like the original pricker disc which has been pinned to the burner so that a normal match lighter generator can be used. Possibly not a factory mod but done by some previous owner to convert the burner. Here are some images which show the original. The paper is from a flyer and the images of the real thing are from an AGM 1250 lantern owned by Dwayne Hanson and the pictures are also his. ::Neil:: PS. I guess this means that your lamp was indeed a 1200 when it was sold and not a 1225. ::Neil::
Thank you much for the info Neil. I hadnt seen those pictures before. I wonder if maybe this was just put together to clean up whatever parts were left over? Even without the pricker mech. its handy to clean the tip with the removable burner assbly. much easier than removing the gen nut.
