Any tips for removing a stubborn NRV on an old Vapalux Font, without destroying the slot? Is there a tool similar to Coleman?

No idea but you can borrow 'Big George' if you like. He's a very large screwdriver with a square shaft and broad blade I got for £1 in a bargain bucket over 40 years ago. He's never let me down... :p

I guess if the going got really tough, I could put him in a vice with his blade pointing up, fit the NRV slot onto him and turn the tank, thus obtaining more leverage... :p

I have a big (large) screwdriver and I turned a bush wit the same inside diameter and the same outside diameter as the pump tube. I cut this along its length, drilled it with two threaded holes across its diameter. I then fitted it around the screwdriver shaft. By thus means, the screwdriver remained centred in the tube and I could apply a force on it to allow me to unscrew the NRV.

If it has the rubber seal around the neck of the NRV it shouldn't be too hard to unscrew. If not, I've had good results applying some penetrating oil first and a heated rod a few times after which I turned it a small fraction tighter first and then loose.

It might work, Clive, but my gut-feeling would be that thin brass and impact screwdrivers don't mix...
