Lift the hood at the top of the glass, then angle the glass and remove it.

    Cheers

You first have to remove the protecting cage (lift it upwards to slide it off the lantern, might be stuck by rust under it so first give it a spray of penetrating oil). Then, you can lift the upper ring that holds the globe and tilt the globe out.

    Best regards,

    Wim

Throw it as hard as you can against a brick wall - the glass will then come out without any further bother... ;)

I reckon the disc is welded.
It's unusual design but I reckon...probably on both front and back (hidden)

    Hi fishfish

Nice lantern your friend has there. If I remember correctly Feuerhand stopped using the top lever crank after 1937.

    Regards, Jeremy

The first post shows the lamp with the glass raised. The little crank at the top is used to do this allowing lighting to take place.

As Wim says, the protective cage should slide upwards, and the device for releasing the glass is pointed to in the other image.
