i was wondering if anyone here in the group knows anything about a tilley flood light that runs on gas and not the kerosene ;the thing is i can't find anything on this item ;it might be someone modified it ;thanks guys
..Hi Stormie! Just to say that more pics of the whole item will help also?...Maybe some more info, like does the Gas Head inside the reflector unscrew?... Pics are always good anyway..
thanks for the reply and im not sure if it does unscrew as the item is on the evil bay ;the pictures i sent are the only ones i have ;the seller really ins't very help full with a few questions i have asked ;less i can see it first hand im as lost as you are ;i don't think i will pursue it really 'i just thought it was different ; the burner is held in with screws so im sure i has been modified from a kerosene to a gas type but i could be wrong as i search i can not find one like this one ;
as in the pictures here you can see that the back side has been cut open to allow the fitting to be placed ;so im sure it has been modified ;sad really to do something like this check these pictures thanks again
....Ah, sorry man thought it was an item you owned yourself, didn't realise it was online somewhere... ...... Looks like the access hole was cut in, er. 'haste' I suppose the asking price prohibits the repair costs??... Maybe useful for some spares if not too pricey???...
thanks jeff 'odd i can't even find one of these types searching the web ;i think it's neat to have 1 that runs on kerosene plus gas but really a waste if one is not sure it's factory made as in the pictures; plus the fact how would you mount it on a fl-6 tank as the gas fitting would rub against the top of the tank;
thanks for the reply and that is what i thought a very messy job cutting around to make the gas vale fit; it;s on the evil bay for 199.00 or best offer i think i will pass ;
i was able to find one on the bay and really what a difference 'plus everything is there but a little quite steep in the price;the burner assembly is there as with any model FL-6 not a fitting and nozzle for a mantle ;though the company might had many different styles ;thanks everyone for your feed back.
It's a different beastie, but might some of the components from these be involved? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=bullfinch+flood+light&rmvSB=true&_sop=12&_fspt=1&_mPrRngCbx=1&clk_rvr_id=984003237260&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1311.R5.TR12.TRC2.A0.H1.Xbull+finch.TRS0&_nkw=bullfinch+lamp&_sacat=0
hi maste ive got a bt25 with spares and the gas feed really nice from mr tilly himself how about that its actully his 1
Right then ! Let's have some pics Toby sounds interesting Oh and welcome to the light (might be best to start a new post so not to dilute this one though ) Cheers
Well for me it's just the head of a FL6 which is "modified" to hold a gas fixture. Nothing of value on that thing. Only value would be a good reflector but even that is modified.
