Leacock Table lantern, the shade destroyer

    This lantern is produced at Leacock lanterns.
    They used an original Petromax vaporizer and the Px preheater.
    In this constellation, there is so much heat, that the shade get disturbed.
    So they used a 2nd heatprotection.
    But it doesn't help much.

    Is the pre-heater missing it's flame tube or is there some other function I'm missing here.

    It's the tube which is missing

    That's an interesting work around and did they use the 500cp., Petromax vapouriser?

    I assume that paraffin/kerosene would be the fuel which is used? Jeff.

    This is the Lancaster Lanterns 400 burner. An impressive piece of equipment. By far the brightest burner I have in my collection. I have one that I mated to a Coleman CQ fount and built a custom lantern around. It is notably brighter and louder than anything else I have, even my Aida 1500 and any Coleman 237.
