Edit: Split from this topic Thank you all for the help so far. Are any of your examples of this lantern in running condition? I am hoping to have mine operational by this time next week. Trying to attach a picture of it.
JR, took it out to the shed and it did give a bit of trouble until I tried it on very low pressure. Seems OK now. Been running for about an hour with no further pumping. Using Shellite (Coleman fuel). (This is the lamp on the right hand side of the first picture in this post so I am not posting multiple lamps in the one thread )
Anthony, that looks great. We sealed founts last night on the Radiant Star and my father inlaw's Coleman 319. I received a full size scan of a bail from Colin and picked out a donor bail to re-bend. Hopefully I will have some action pictures in a few days.
I heat cured the Caswells sealer last night and reassembled this morning. I had to add a thicker pump/cap gasket so it would hold pressure. I gave the fount and vent a quick shine with Mother's polish as well. Burns beautifully without pulse or over burn. Will try bending a bail later today while my son naps (I do not work on Mondays). Thanks to all for the help with images and information on bail measurements. -John
I attempted bail bending and found it is not in my skillset. A friend on the Coleman Collectors Forum offered to make me one off of the schematics I sent him. Once it arrives I will take a couple more detail pictures and post here. By the way, this is a fine burning lantern. Bright but still fairly quiet. I ran it on a white gas and kero blend last time to reduce carbon build up in the generator.
