I'm looking for some of the Optimus style manometers that fit onto a threaded nipple on the tank, not the type that is integrated into the fuel cap. I know Butterfly make them and I've seen other unbranded makes on sale. I can easily get them from Europe, but high postage is putting me off. So I'm looking for a UK supplier, does anybody know of one? Thanks,
Have a look at the small brass one that Mamod make for their model steam engines. Think "Forrest classics" sell them for about £45. You would probably also want a threaded bush if you are going to tank mount. These are available on eBay for about £5. Not sure what the thread size is if you are going to use an existing threaded nipple.
Anyone know the size of the Optimus manometer thread? Several of the commercial manometers I have found have 1/8 BSP fittings, I wonder if they would fit.
The thread on the Optimus, Primus and Radius manometers is 7mm x 28 tpi whitworth, the thread on the Butterfly Manometer is the same AFAIK. G 1/8 is identical to 1/8 BSPP (or whatever it's called now.) I guess it may have been used for the Petromax manometers, but I really have no idea.
Hi Joakim, The Butterfly manometers are sold by Hytta http://hytta.de/butterfly/549.htm Fogas have unbranded manometers, but they seem to be out of stock right now. http://www.fogas.se/shop/3671---manometer/ Regards, HD
