I have recently obtained an AL21 inspection lamp and very nice it is too. I did a strip down, replaced washers and reassembled. A lovely bright light that eventually dimmed and went "phut!" a close inspection has revealed some seepage where the fuel pipe is connected to the tank which could account for the loss of pressure. is it a straight forward resoldering job or more complicated? I'd light to get it up and running as it is fantastic for picking out scouts at night!
The fuel connection on these is at the bottom of the tank which might seem obvious but the point here is these are steel tanks and the bottom of the tank is where they rust out. Not a problem to re solder if it is just the solder seal that has failed but more drastic action may be required if you have a rust pin prick. ::Neil::
*UPDATE* Had a good look with a magnifying glass whilst tank was pressurised and I have a pinhole leak in the solder. I've resoldered and am waiting for it to cool down before I do another pressure test.
