Email Scam Warning

    I received an email from a forum member's address that is obviously not from them and is a scam.

    If You answer You get this nice Message from Manila:

    Thanks so much for your concern,i am so sorry for putting through all the stress but i am so glad you replied...,I need about £1,250 GBP to sort out the bills and have my ticket straightened out but any amount you send will go a long way .You can have it wired to me through Western Union Transfer and i'll use my ID and signature for pick up over here, below are the details you need to have the cash wired

    Yeah, don't anyone send me any money in Manila because I won't get it and therefore you won't be getting it paid back! :doh:

    This same thing went around a couple years ago, also using the ID of a member here.

    Aye - I'd recommend anyone on the list change their email password. Just because the email purported to come from David doesn't mean it was his account that was hacked - more like he was in the address book of the hacked account. If it was David's account that was hacked I'd have expected to get the message too.
