Hi, here you see my "elektra" hanging lamp. Its brandet with "elektra" ,a manufacturer from the old zechoslowakia I have found them a long time ago in Prague. She had a copper tank ,300 HK lighting performance and an idiosyncratic construction. Best regards Roland
Hello, it's a fine lamp and I reckon that the manufacturer would also have made stoves, is that correct? Jeff.
Strange beast although I think I have seen an illustration of a similar looking Japanese lamp. I don't know of any other lamps they made but you have to assume they did. ::Neil::
Hi Piotr, Yes there are a couple of Czech alcohol vapour gravity lamp models known ( I have one myself) that are branded ”Elektra”; odd lamps that are made with a simple and primitive vapour burner construction. More pressure related stuff has not been found yet connected to that brand. This company is some sort of a mystery, not much information here. Could possible be connected to the Vienna Wiktorin Co that had a line of sophisticated alcohol vapour lamps sold around 1910. The Wiktorin main factory was situated in Vienna with a subsidiary in Swatoboritz (Svatoborice) in Moravia. There is a Czech company, still in business (electric lightning), "Elektrosvit" from Svatoborice and founded 1906 by a Jindrich Wiktorin. I believe that could be the subsidiary Wiktorin factory and that post WW I that factory manufactured lamps under the name/brand of Elektra. /Conny
I have always been expecting more from Czechoslovakia. It is a country with a fine engineering heritage and there is no doubt in my mind there were certainly engineers capable of competing with Petromax and Hasag in Europe but there seems to be very little out there. Mind you it is just yet another country that seems to have mostly imported pressure lighting instead of developing their own. Russia comes to mind here as another that so far has produced no pressure lamps at all. ::Neil::
Hi folks! I have such an "Electra"-Lamp and I am looking for some technical info. Does someone have a parts catalogue or explosion drawings of this very nice hanging lamp??? When was this lamp manufactured??? Greetings from Germany! Ruediger
Here you can see the Elektra in comparison to a Optimus 1200 lamp. Does really noone have any technical data concerning this lamp???
Well I have nothing on the company. All I know is from the existence of this lamp so I would like to know more as well. ::Neil::
