Picked this one up last Sunday at the local swap meet. In fairly good shape given a quick once over I think it would light right up. No date stamp. On top vent it says The Coleman Lamp Company Limited Toronto Canada. How do you date these ones? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have a Canadian Coleman Quicklite 327 like yours. The date on mine is on the side of the font just under the Sunshine logo. There should be the year on the left in 2 digits and the date on the right. They are small. Mine is stamp dated 25 10, Made in October 1925. These lanterns were made in the 1920s, they work very well, lots of info on the web on how to light them. Bob
Hi Bob...I've looked it over pretty good under a magnified light and no Sunshine logo. It does say Coleman on the fuel valve knob. Nothing on the bottom of the fount either. I have two other Quicklites so I know exactly what you are talking about in regards to the Sunshine logo but nothing on this fount.
Hi MrAlexxx Dating stamps started late 1924 and the 327 came out with that punched collar configuration in 1921 So yours dates between then . They are an easy fettle as have no fuel air tube just a straight pick up tube If your gen is ok pump it up ( external pump) crack the valve on and off quickly , heat the gen with a flame and as soon as it fires up turn on valve slowly Canadian models are desirable and it should polish up nice Well done!
Pumped it up and left it over night held the pressure and could hear the air escaping when the valve was cracked this morning. Fueled it up and lit up easily. @Akeepsake Thanks for the easy lighting instructions. Works good.
