Gloria lantern

    Found this one today was just wondering if anyone knows about when they were made and I was told this one is ultra rare any truth in that I don't know 1481490702-IMAG0007.jpg

    Have you checked (Gas pressure lamps and Lanterns) Terry Marshes site in Links at top of home page.
    More photos showing burner will help.

    I have this lantern listed as a Gloria model P although it is perhaps more likely to be a Knight Light Sunray lantern. It was also sold as a Sunshine Safety lantern but they are generally clearly marked as SS. Not sure about ultra rare. I have one and I have seen a few more. Not common is perhaps better.

    Here is a Knight flyer showing both lamp and lantern.

    Since this same lantern was sold by Sunshine Safety it can only be from 1914 to 1923 because that was the period when SS sold Gloria/Knight and Nulite product. ::Neil::

    Thank you for the great information and I think you may be right I can't find any as markings
