This is a chinese Anchor, 200hk, it's a real good
    OPTIMUS copy.

The lantern has a little weather shield and ring around the tank to fix the lantern when it is stormy.

The lantern could be a sailers position lantern, or something like else

The filler looks like a Primus copy, but otherwise it does look like an Optimus 200. I love the shade and the ring. Are both loose? Any idea of age?

Yes the filler looks like from Primus, the hole is very small.

    Both things are loose

Interesting lamp and very nice. You might ask Terry if he can get a translation of the Chinese. I know he has a tame Chinese lecturer in his college who can probably do this. ::Neil::

I asked a friend of mine what it says and this was his reply

Yes, it's Chinese. but also Japanese, since there are many common characters in the two languages.
"白光燈" means "white lamp"; "大日本" is "Japan"; and the long six characters are the name of the producing factory.

It has finally dawned on me what his lantern is. You have a Japanese Hakukosha model 3 lantern. Made by Dai-Nihon-Hakukosha Manufacturing in Japan. So this is not a Chinese Anchor lamp at all. ::Neil::

Quite a rare one too. I know of only one other in Japan. I had some pictures of the same model from Shinzo Kono, a fellow Guild member, in Japan maybe 5 years ago. I don't know if it has the same anchor logo but otherwise it is an identical lantern with that same label. Shinzon gave me the factory name and address and I have no reason to doubt him so we do know what this one is. ::Neil::

    Hi Neil, it's Shinzo.
It's been a long time since we discussed regarding Japanese pressure lanterns.
I'm sorry I could not get in touch.
I'm still 51 years old now and have to work hard another 10 years or so.
Last couple of years I have been quite busy for my job and could not allocate my spare time to my hobby.
Now, situation is getting better and I re-started to gather information and collect pressure lamps & stoves.

Anyway, Karli, your lamp was definitely made by Japanese company named “Dai-Nihon-Hakukosha-Manufacturing”.
You can see brief history of the company at my website below.

This is truly great news. I was rather worried because we had not heard from you for so long. Good to see you here. Just 51? A young man still then. ::Neil::
