Here is my Coleman 210-700 (2/75), made in USA. It came with a vent (hood) that was in very good condition. It came with its original box: It came with two mantles. and a home-made spirit bottle. as well as a manual. It was straightforward to get running: The test burn before fettling showed that the vapouriser (generator) was fairly well clogged. Note that the generator was bent. I replaced it. Note that the cage is not at 90 degrees to the base plate - this was how it came from the factory. Up and running (daylight in the shed). This is a fine kerosene Coleman. Cheers Tony
These are great little lamp when they're running like yours is. I must get hold of a spare generator for mine sometime, I think the one fitted is living on borrowed time. I'll have to look at mine again, but I'm pretty sure that spirit bottle is the original Coleman one sent with the lamp. I've got a couple now, and I use them with all my spirit cup equipped lamps.
Thanks, Peter. It's not a very good spirit bottle (cracked at the top of the spout), so I assumed it was home-made. Cheers Tony
It is nice to see a very good example of a Coleman kerosene lantern. It has been well illustrated with a good variety of well taken photographs that are perfect for the archive.
Also that is a very early date for the 201. In addition I have never seen that box before with the orange back panel..... a really good find. Congrats to your daughter if she sourced that on her own!!! My daughter gave me a Hipo 250 for Christmas.... I found it and purchased it, she wrapped it and paid me back!!! Daughters are wonderful!!!
