This is a very early tilley i think must be about 1924 or there abouts. It is a short table lamp seen in many of the early catalogues its been replated at some time in its life i think original plating can be seen on the base tho The lamp has the earliest type control cock tho just a pricker control really and the pressure relief valve on the tank. The pump is a rare brentworks hendon stamped pump type and the handle would have been a optional extra in those days The gallery and burner are special with the flat topped mixing dome and screw in the top, it also has a ceramic mantle spigot never seen one like that before tho tilley were in the gas business way back then. The burner air tubes are two piece tubes also one tube for the air, one over the top of them to hold the very simple gallery. The lamp also sports the early parrafin pre heater i have tried to use it and its as bad as the later one made in 1930 as well as many of you will know Finally the odd dish on the top of the mixing dome i think something is missing between the dome and gallery ring, after looking long and hard at old illustrations i think that something maybe like on the top of this old PL type lamp that dish is very much like the illustration. cheers pete
That is not a pressure relief valve. The control under the generator is just a pricker operator and the gizmo in the tank is the main shut off valve. Early stuff and pretty rare. ::Neil::
