Hi it's been ages since i purchased a lamp, but today i was fortunate to purchase this coleman duel fuel double mantle lantern. I paid £28 for it at my local antique collectable shop . I got it home and gave it a quick going over, i notice that there was some unleaded petrol in it and that there was no resistance in the pump so i have stripped it down and going to carry out a full fettle. Which will be added in more detail in the fettling forum. Can any one help what mantles this lamp uses on the collar it says 285-700T i cant find this on ebay what mantles areused for this lamp many thanks
I lighted one of those last night! It belongs to my kids, I had borrowed the glass for some experimentation with a Petromax. Have you used Coleman's gas lanterns before? If you have, I will spare you the simple things to check and be aware of. Jody
Hi jody i have used Coleman lanterns and stoves before, i have a Coleman 639 Kerosene. I have a few stoves my favourite is the 502 and i restored a 440 stove. Hopefully all the seals in the fuel pick up tube valve is ok, at the moment the lantern has been stripped down, i will be adding more pics and documented break down of this fettle in the fettling forum many kind thanks for your help
