    Hi all I was just looking around on my local flea market and found what appears to be a Petromax lantern. Does anyone know any info about it? because the decal on it seems to be missing

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome aboard and that is a good find!:thumbup::thumbup:

    The link below shows the Petromax lantern pages on this website and your lantern should restore well enough.

    I believe it's a 500cp because it came with a 500cp mantle
    It is 40 cm tall
    Thanks for the support so far!

    Not sure of the exact age or model number, but it looks to be in good overall condition.
    There is a very good guide to servicing the Petromax 829 lantern here:

    Restoration of a PETROMAX 829 Lantern

    Yours would be the same in almost all respects. You may need new rubber seals and perhaps a jet and needle. The parts for Butterfly, Anchor, Dietz and most other 350 and 500cp lanterns made in Asia will work just fine on your lantern. Good luck and be sure to show us when you have it working!

    A mantle seperate from the lamp is not a good indication of the model/size.

    What number is there on the jet ? The jet makes the CP output > size. The top part doens't look correct to me.

    @WimVe
    There seems to be no markings on the jet apparently but feel free to correct me if I am wrong
    There is also no preheat cup in the lantern

    Hello, in my opinion is a Petromax 828 from 1954/56 with a chinese hood replacement.
