Similar to the Mr.Karli. But the difference is... Sticker on the tank Shaped like a triangle. Other details shown in picture. Thank you.
Juan, these lamps were made for the German army during second world war. I doubt that they could be found somewhere else than in Europe.(Maybe Afrika Korps used some but I have never heard of any) Piotr
Yes, I think Karli. I find more information. Thanks to the website http://www.lampensalat.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=70&Itemid=74. Explains ... This type of lamp has a very changeable same story. It was produced by HASAG in Leipzig Paunsdorf. With a brightness of 300HK, powered by gasoline or kerosene, they spread a pleasant light. Specifically for the armed forces the right model was prepared. The tank is painted black, the hood enameled blue / black. Due to lack economy consists only of the knob pressed cardboard, only the carburetor and the mixing tube made of brass. Thank you.
Ok the 351 was made for during the WWII. I don't think that the 351 table lamp was made for the army, this lamp was produced during the WWII, too. I think your lantern was sold for the civil use from a civil dealer. The people who can give us more information do not live anymore. So......let us speculate
Fact that you say "Table lamp" is not available in this detail. Predict very interesting. Thanks Karli.
Hello Tony, here you can see my reflector, the same one, the pearl fringes are not original, but they have nearly the same blue like the shade
I really doubt if HS in Paunsdorf made any lanterns during WW2. If they did they wouldn't be demolished after the war due to war crimes. They where full in ammo production (death comes in yellow)... I guess that the black steel tank lanterns where made just after by Leipzicher Werke or Mewa when brass plate was still difficult to use. I haven't seen any evidence at all of wehrmacht units using or having listed pressure lamps at all. There are petromax lamp boxes known but even they can't be traced to a special use.
-I guess that the black steel tank lanterns where made just after by Leipzicher Werke or Mewa when brass plate was still difficult to use- .....and then they took the sticker from a West German lantern dealer and put his label on a tank from a East German company?????? Great idea. I don't think so. Take this lamp http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/1777
Hello Karli, Why not ? They also engraved the HASAG logo on special request. And the Split of east and west wasn't that harsh directly after the war. As I remember well the after ww2 E&G company (so east german) had an office in Hamburg as I recall it correct. So it was not strange that there was trade between east and west.
