Hello everyone ! Finally got my hands on a Radius 110. The Radius 110 is a 500cp kerosene lantern with a different burner system, as on the later 106A-110A it uses an positive shut of valve located in the vaporizer, but uses a lever instead of a wheel to operate the rinse needle and the shut of valve. The 110 is mentioned in a 1954 leaflet as new, but in 1956 the 110A was announced, therefor i assume they where only made in 1954 and maybe 1955, making this a quite rare lantern. The fount is pretty much a 103 fount, but with a 110 imprint, same goes for the vent, but everything else is different. The inner vent is much more open, for better airflow i suspect. The vaporizer is huge and over engineered as it uses a piece between the upper part of the vaporizer and the jet, this part is the shut of valve. And the vaporizer also has threads inside for the rinse rod to be able to move in an up-down fashion. Also the glass stand is totally different in order to accommodate the sideways moving lever. Further more the bottom inside the glass stand is bulged not flat. The fuel pick up tube goes in the center of the fount as on a 103, but is also very different and has a threaded stud in the upper center for the small nut holding the preheater cup and the glass stand in place. This lantern has repairs on the lever as the original clamp apparently broke at some point, the alteration is slightly bigger, therefor the opening in the glass stand has been altered somewhat to allow for the movement of the lever. A rare beast even here, id' say that the only really common Radius lantern is the 119, and it's a little bit strange, the stove based Radius lanterns are quite common too, but still very expensive. Fred
