Noticed this old lady as I was prowling around the flea market. It has the same wheel as my 252 but different filling cap. Any ideas of age?
I'll have to back for another look. Saw a bunch of things today and have them all jumbled. Had Sweden on both sides of the cap but can't remember how the wings looked
You know you have a problem when you are worrying at home about lamps in the market Anyway I went back and bought this grand old lady. Some interesting things (or possibly not) glass is branded by Jena Suprax but not Optimus. Maybe a replacement at some stage. Pump has a bayonet type lock, which is already a bit annoying to me. Filler cap matches my 252 and 253 as does the valve wheel. Brand graphics are also same font as 252/253. Hopefully this can help me date all of them.
Can't help date it but manwho you are off to a great start to a collection. That lamp is just amazing!
Well they're all pretty much the same age, so you have a nice set there. Outdoor lantern, table lamp and a hanging lamp. Well done. Unless there are the remains of "Optimus no. 300" opposite the Schott logo, it must be a replacement glass. Still a fairly old replacement though.
Funny thing about these, I had been searching all over town. In the end I found these in 4 adjacent stalls in a flea market. The guy at the stall with the 252 sent me away at first. He was looking after the stall for someone else, said that old piece of garbage was no good . Had to sneak back when he was gone...
And here it is again finally lit. Has a totally gummed up generator that took me 2 days to sort out. All new seals and bits from Conny at fogas.se. It runs bright as the sun and without a leak. Just have to wait for it to get dark now. So pleased to get my first lamp going
Hi mark, Your Optimus lamps are superb Now you have the reward of light All the best for you Best regards, Titoo
