I took the advice of some of you and converted my 220F. She is a kero burner now. The preheating pot was made out of some brass I had laying around. Turns out it holds enough to get the lantern going. I used the 200-2581 generator internal pricker, spring and jet in the 220’s generator. I also copper wrapped the spring. Mantles are Peerless 2C HG. The fuel tube’s air port was plugged off in a way that I could go back to original if I wanted.

Ah. The best laid plans...... After burning for about five minutes, the mantles developed a halo which eventually became external flames. I checked everything over a couple of times. The lantern only burned more or less correctly with fine tuning the pricker handle horizontal. Turns out I should be using the 201-B5891 vaporizer. It’s jet is 0.005” as against the 0.006” of the 200-B5891 or the stock 0.007”. Waiting on the new generator.

Well after much “ fettling” bordering frustration, I’m back on track. Getting rid of the mantle halo and blackening was driving me crazy. Finally figured out that I was grossly over pumping the lantern. My results now have been removing the f/a tube needle and adding some fine copper wire to the vaporizer spring.
