General Data Protection Regulation, which affects the way organisations use the private individuals' data they hold and had to be in place by 25th May 2018 Europewide. It caused a last-minute flurry of activity hereabouts when seemingly just about every organisation you'd ever had dealings with, sent you an email outlining how they were going to deal with the data they held about you. Fines for non-compliance can be staggeringly high for a large commercial organisation. As Secretary of a small, not-for-profit members group, I've had to go through the process but it's all been a fart in a bottle really - for example, use 'bcc' in block emails so as not to reveal everyone's email addresses to the rest of the group.
