Here is another Australian-made Gloria lantern. It is similar to my other Gloria PLC Model W but with some differences. "Gloria Made in Australia by Gloria Light Co. Pty. Ltd Melbourne" The brass pre-heater was bent into the third different shape I've seen for this type of Gloria pre-heater. I think they must have been made straight, then fitted to each lantern (either that, or the owner of the lantern or service agent later bent them into different shapes after sale). The mantle was on the lantern. I've left it on (this lantern won't be lit). Unlike my other Gloria Model W, this one has a brass two-piece hood (like these here and here). This filler cap, with "Gloria" on it, is different from the other round filler caps seen on similar Gloria lanterns (see links below). The glass has many of these "lenses". This lantern is in the condition it came in, save for me cleaning it. It took me a while to decide whether it was unfired or not, but there's enough evidence to conclude it has been fired. I know, though, that it has not been lit for at least 30 years. Seeing I have another, this will be a shelf queen. The other Gloria lanterns of this type in the Reference Library are: Gloria Lantern (Australia; 1930s; PLC Model "W") Australian Gloria Australian Gloria Bob (@Lamp_Doctor) had one of these, with a different type of pre-heater, at the Staffordshire Reef light up last year. And two other green tank versions made an appearance as well. Best regards Tony @Mackburner @Bo Ryman @Lamp_Doctor @Henry Plews @Digout @ROBBO55 @Anthony
