So I thought I would try an optic glass from John Moncreiff.
I like the effect but it is difficult to light because the butterfly clip doesn't fit underneath.
The scalloped edges diffuse the light a bit. It fills the room without being too blinding.

Is it larger than the Tilley 182 onion globe?

Looks like you need the longer vapouriser with that globe.

A longer burner would fit better. Not so easy to come by though. I bought a Taiwanese Bialaddin vaporiser which works a treat on my bowlfire. That guy 'Phil Captain' doesn't have replica 169 vaporiser.

    Hi Jean,

You are correct it is on the pricey side of things but it is serviceable whereas the Tilley and Bialaddin/Vapalux vaporizers aren't.

If you are able to find some NOS vaporizers which were made in the UK then you will have a good vaporizer but if it comes from China it may work or it may not. The 7 inch vaporizers are getting hard to find. I'm sure you will come across a 7 inch sooner or later.

There is another gent that makes Tilley vaporizers but his are more expensive then the one I listed above and his vaporizers are a copy of the original.

    Cheers,

    Norman

I wouldn't like to have to make one for $55.

    Just sayin'... :)
