Moin, I made a nice catch the other day! A Petromax 826 that came back from India. the lamp was in usable condition and, by and large, was a very good basis for reconditioning. The surfaces were cleaned and polished and I was even able to repair the pressure gauge. It is unclear why the lamp has a pressure gauge, which must have been ordered and paid for separately, as it is not really needed without a rapid starter. [
A very nice Px 826 of May 1938. We had discussed this typical handwriting of this Px "scratcher" which is unique. Matthias
Very nice, Dieselross. I have a similar one dated 1930, with the pressure gauge but missing the original pricker wheel.
Just wondering, usually the manometer will have "D.R.P." stamped on it if it's prewar. This doesn't have that stamped on it. ??
Moin, No, the pressure gauge does not have the stamp. But since the structurally identical (only in black) manometer of my 2827 do not have such a stamp either, I assume that it was the usual stamping at the time.
