    Hi Everyone

Does anyone know how you go about pressurising donut tilley lamps?
I've got an OL50 and an IL47 and neither came with a pump.
I'm presuming you need to adapt the pump to use a usual type X246 pump or use a bike pump??

    Thanks Tom

Those lamps were originally fitted with a pressure valve / filler cap and a bike pump with a connection was used to pressurise the tank.

    1930s IL-33 (300cp).

If your lamps do have the original filler cap you should use a bike pump with hose.

The filler incorporates a check valve and has a cycle pump fitting. Like this from my IL47 which is more or less the same for all the do-Nut lamps. ::Neil::

I went to a bicycle shop and bought a hand pump for the European style tubes. Works well with a flexible rubber hose.
