    Hello everyone.

I made a nozzle for a Petromax 834. The nozzle is turned from 9mm hexagon brass and drilled with a nozzle hole 0.16mm. The nozzle also has the classic needle aid, which is missing in today's nozzles from new production.

    Greetings Michael

    It looks good.
It is nice when you have the ability to make obsolete parts and improve on them.

The original nozzles for Petromax donut lamps were always made of iron , because the bases of these lamps were made of cast iron.

Did you use a drill bit to make the 0.16mm hole?
I gave up on that method in the past because the drill bits kept breaking immediately.

    Hello Camp numao.

Yes, I drill the nozzle hole here with this drill bit 0.15 mm. However, it is important to prepare the drilling process. direct the drill chuck to the lathe chuck with each hole there must be no tumbling on the outside. I first center the needle aid then

Atlan, i am interested, what speed do you run the lathe at when drilling the jet.

    Hi ROBBO55

I run my machine at 2000 rpm, which is the best way to cope with these holes. I feed when drilling by hand with a lot of feeling. You feel nothing is the problem. And always blow off the drill after 5 /10 and put cutting oil on it. Greetings Michael

    Hello everyone.

Here is another nozzle repair. On this Aida 214, the needle was still very well preserved.

But the nozzle bore has become very large.

Here I soldered the hole with silver solder.

After soldering, I turned the nozzle flat again and since the nozzle dimension of 0.19 mm was on the nozzle, I drilled the hole again.

The nozzle, needle and of course the lamp could be used again. Here I took pictures of all sections.

    Greetings Michael

Thanks Michael, for the details. I assumed it would be fast.
