Hi All I have been playing with the X246B founts making wall lamps & the latest creation is an SL/HL type using a homemade handle with fixings for the later "B" style tanks This was a bit of a stab in the dark as i was not sure of how i was going to fix the rear of the handle to the fount but a well shaped clip arrangement sorted itself out in the fettling . Here are some pic's The front of the handle is fixed to the fount with a slightly over-size ring & this is centered with a machined standard clamp nut , the oversize ring aids with the fitting on . the rear clip holds the tanks bottom rim not the tank base I just need to make a band fitting for the feet to keep it upright when fueling & when it's all complete i'll put some more pic's on this thread Best regards Stu

Very nice, good work on the 96 burner as well. I haven't had mine running for a while so I don't know how it runs, perhaps I'll have to try it sometime. Anyway that's enough stove chat this is the lamp side and we'll get told off. I made a frankenlamp last weekend, the riser tube from an old Tilley tank was machined to fit inside the riser on a Primus no.5 tank then soldered in using my newly found skill. Tilley cock and vap, then a storm lamp top with one of your cut down cages to protect the glass. I lost the entire pump tube inside the tank when I was repairing the solder seam and couldn't get the base plate out but luckily managed to wangle it back out of the pump hole. Just need to try it now.

Nah - the stove part and the lamp part would be fed from the same tank with separate cocks so they could be used independently or together. Not a new idea, mind - there was this dual-purpose thingy called the Little Magician. It didn't catch on...
That's a better Idea David, problems with the one in that picture, they are cooking in the day light anyway and the light looks to be under the frying pan? If I were to build one, I'd go with a Cl72 style, and have the lamp like a table lamp which was above the level of the cooking pot. You could even go with a Pl53 hood and have an optional reflector. Some one will do it if I can't.
Yeah, Lance over at CCS [strike]cobbled something together[/strike] elegantly engineered a hybrid stove and lantern. I'll see if I can locate a pic... Yes, I was thinking of a sort of CL72/CS22 hybrid. Anyway, as I said, the Little Magician didn't catch on - for obvious reasons. I can't remember where I got that picture from originally (is it a still from Brokeback Mountain? ) but I've a feeling I have seen the full instructions somewhere. IIRC, they give a better idea of how the thing's laid out.

Ahh, I see what you mean, a way of hanging the lamp would need to be factored in but it's all possible. Tomorrow is another day, I'll see what I can design.
