The pressure gauge was missing the needle, lens and needed a new aluminium plate. I fitted a needle and it moves when pressurised, but only a bit.
The year is March 1949 and the collar is correct for the 241 lantern. The 241A with the model number on the collar followed soon after that.
I have got the lantern going. Just need to find it it's own 1930's [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] outer hood/vent.

I think it may be 1940 as 1930 was before the 240 series of lanterns were first made.
I have my Grandfather's Primus 633 dated "J" from 1920.
Nice lantern. 5 hrs is a successful reliability test.
The spirit dish looks like it was to catch drips from the valve. If it was used for preheating it would probably eventually scorch the valve wheel...
